This is a coronavirus fast test that gives results in 15 minutes allowing for quick diagnosis and corresponding action to be taken.
New antigen rapid tests have been developed recently that have good sensitivity (>90%) and specificity (>95%) compared to PCR tests in studies in symptomatic patients, so you can rest assured that this is an extremely effective testing method.
As opposed to detecting an active infection, a serological test can detect whether someone has had coronavirus and has IgG and IgM antibodies present in their immune system.
This is done through a blood test, and antibodies can be detected in the blood between 1 and 3 weeks after someone has been infected.
Results of this test take between 48 and 72 hours to come back from the lab.
